About Granger Smith

Granger Smith is a New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and Christian minister known for boldly bridging mainstream audiences with the truth of the Gospel.

After a 24-year career as an award-winning, platinum-selling country music artist, Smith stepped away from the spotlight to answer a clear calling into ministry—devoting his life to sharing biblical truth, discipleship, and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

His memoir, Like a River: Finding the Faith and Strength to Move Forward After Loss and Heartache, became a New York Times bestseller, offering a powerful testimony of grief, surrender, and eternal perspective following the loss of his son, River. He later released Up Toward the Light, a children’s book inspired by that journey.

Smith’s forthcoming book, Poison in the Well: 11 Toxic Beliefs That Kept Me from the Living Water of Jesus (Thomas Nelson, releasing September 8, 2026), is a bold and deeply personal call to examine the false beliefs and cultural Christianity that can keep people from truly knowing Jesus. Through raw storytelling, biblical truth, and lessons forged through heartbreak and redemption, Smith challenges readers to confront the idols, misconceptions, and half-truths that distort faith—while pointing to the life-changing power of the Gospel and the hope found in a genuine relationship with Christ.

Smith is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary while serving as an elder at his local church and is a sought-after speaker at churches and conferences nationwide.

He hosts the The 9941 Podcast, rooted in the mission of leaving the 99 to reach the one, alongside his two brothers and a dear friend.

Smith continues to use his platform—including his nationally syndicated iHeart radio show After MidNite with Granger Smith—to bring comfort, connection, and encouragement to audiences across the country.

Before entering ministry, Smith released ten studio albums, scored multiple Billboard country chart hits—including the No. 1 single “Backroad Song”—and built a passionate grassroots following known as Yee Yee Nation through relentless touring and fan connection.

He lives in Texas with his wife Amber and their children, where faith and family remain at the center of their lives.
